Benagil sits at the exact centre of the Percurso dos Sete Vales Suspensos, which makes the hamlet the smart base for walking it in pieces: west, the path rounds the cliffs to Praia do Carvalho's tunnel and on towards Vale de Centeanes; east, it crosses directly over the Benagil cave — pause at the railed skylight and look down into the dome — before riding the cliffs to Marinha's double arch and Albandeira beyond.
The full trail runs 5.7 km each way between Centeanes and Marinha and collects European best-trail awards annually; from Benagil, either half makes a superb 60–90 minute out-and-back. Shade is absent and edges are unfenced — water, hats and shoes with grip are the entry fee.
