Opened in 1886, the Dom Luís I bridge crosses the Douro on two levels: the lower deck links Ribeira to the port wine cellars of Gaia, and the upper deck, shared by pedestrians and the metro, links the Sé area to the Serra do Pilar. Walk across the top for one of the best views of the city.
